Do you just have the one television? Sadly enough many of the american households have on average 2-3 televisions. We have two. One in the bedroom and one in the living room so we neither have sex nor a life! HA!

My dad bought us a 32 in widescreen flat tv for Christmas and my husband has taken it over with his X-Box game playing self. I prefer the tv in the room so I can work out while I turn my brain brain to mush with all the crap I watch.

Holy cow! Four? Are you sure you are a canadian? LOL! So why do you have to ask your husband to watch something? My husband teases me about shows i watch but I just ignore him. That seems to be the best approach because if I defend my choices he will start dancing around in front of the television and goofing off to distract me.

A friend of the family uses split-screen TV (one of those picture-in-picture dealyos) so he can watch the game (on mute) and his wife her stories. So weird things happen. Mom tells me in the old days they had one black & white TV in the neighborhood, and everyone went over to watch together. TV was much more of a social experience then, I guess.

In Canada, we had one TV for 50 people. Which freaked me out when I first got there, as I am not only a total TV-addict, I'm also a control-freak. But I discovered the joys of downloading soon after. I remember during the first two weeks I was down in the TV room a lot more. A few weeks later someone asked my why I was never down there anymore. And I replied, "I got a laptop now."

But I guess that whole sharing TV wasn't typically Canadian then?

Yeah my hubby is a big soccer and skiing fan. When he is not watching that he is playing his Xbox. I watch completely different things, but I am usually the one who goes into the bedroom to watch, but by choice. like I said I lift weights and work out and there is more room in tehre than the living room.

Henk- 50 people to one television? I couldn't do it either. I have actually asked people to move in the theater for talking. Well, sometimes I move too, but normally I ask them to move if i was seated first. I have to have quiet when I watch. I am easily distracted these days, which is the total opposite of how I used to be. There could be a fire in the kitchen and I would not look up. At all.

Oh, I love discussing the show I?m watching. Or commenting on poor writing. My parents usually watch that awful awful Jennifer Love Hewitt show where she talks to dead people, and since it?s on before House here I usually sit there and point out the plot holes and cliches.

They really hate it when I do that. I should probably stop. But I love it too much.

LOL! As in that MAD TV skit where none of the ghosts could make clear what they wanted because they were too distracted by her breasts. That was funny.

I don't really get the appeal of the show. But maybe it's like you get drawn in by the cleavage and get sucked into the storyline somehow. I know a similar thing has happened to me once or twice.

I find that the stories on Ghost whisperer are inspirational, It gives people hope that there is a better place waiting for us, as well as showing people that the loved oves who have passed are going to a better place....Oh yeah and Jennifer Love Hewitt has big hooters
